After finding a picture of a teapot that worked for my purposes (left), I began to alter the image in Photoshop. First, I brightened up the image so areas like the teapot's handle wouldn't be as dark. Once that was done, I used a filter that not only brightened the image even more but also made the image look like it was sponge-painted. The result of this is right of the the original image.

I began another transformation, now on a coffee cup. After opening up the image in Photoshop, I played around with a number of tools. I changed the original image by sharpening certain areas of the cup, as well as brightening them too. The final product is on the right here.
